Life 4 U Foundation: Programs


1. Thusa Sechaba: Feeding Scheme and Poverty Relief

A. Feeding Scheme

The feeding scheme primary objective is to prepare daily nutritious meals for impoverished children and families to alleviate poverty and ensure that no one goes to sleep without food. Our targets are children, school learners, impoverished families and households. At the moment meals are prepared on Monday, Wednesdays and Friday at 4pm at our offices.L4U also provides much needed after-school care and support to children in the community. This includes homework support, reading programmes and numeracy activities, physical stimulation and Recreational activities in a safe environment.

B. Widows and Orphans Project

The primary objective of the project is offer spiritual and moral support to widows and orphans through prayer and talks by pastors and social workers to deal with grief and other social needs which they might need after losing their loved ones or bread winners. We then host quarterly charity events in year to assist widows and orphans with food parcels and clothes which we collect from community members and our partners to ensure that everyone around our communities are not deprived of human dignity and the right to live a decent life.

Our charity events are hosted quarterly in the month of March, June (July), September, December.

Prior to the events we collect food items, well -kept clothes and shoes and donate to the most impoverished widows and orphans (Child headed households) on the day of the charity event.

Targeted Beneficiaries:

• Most impoverished and Poverty stricken families/individuals (Child headed households, Widows, Orphans, foreigners, pensioners and disabled people)

• Disaster stricken families and communities


2. Bereka Youth Development: Program objectives

•Assist unemployed youth to find work and job opportunities by linking them with companies, service providers, skills development agencies, Seta’s and government agencies. Act as an information Centre to assist youth with information which need to reach their goals.

• Provide skills development training to equip youth with necessary skills of finding employment. Project Programs 1. Information Desk( Job Hunting and Career guidance , Entrepreneur development) 2. Skills Development Classes (ICT, Photography, sales, Marketing, Customer care service, Etc.) 3. Youth Volunteering ( Youth Service Work and Schools Sanitation Project) 4. Youth Camps


 3. Wash 4 Life Campaign

Wash 4 Life Project it’s a hygiene and water and sanitation awareness campaign managed by Life 4 U Foundation - (NPO) operating in Tembisa which is registered with the department of Social Development and SARS. The campaign started in 2013 in Ivory Park and Tembisa -Gauteng Province with the primary objective of reducing the incidence of water and sanitation-related diseases and sicknesses, and protects children and youth rights by ensuring that they use clean non-dysfunctional toilets.

Wash 4 Life Objective

The primary objective of this project is to reduce the incidence of water and sanitation-related diseases and sicknesses, and protect children and youth rights by ensuring that they use clean non-dysfunctional toilets. This will be achieved by promoting Good Toilet and Personal Hygiene, Water conservation, clean environment and protection of public facilities against vandalism; with the primary target being township and rural schools, Early childhood development Centre’s and community centres. The core mandate is to support South African Educational system and protection of Children’s health and rights by providing free toilet maintenance and refurbishment services to rural and disadvantaged schools; also encourage community and youth volunteering to assist schools with toilets cleaning.
